Choose the item and the dates, then book. New hirers complete a one-time £2 identity check and pay no platform fee on top of the owner's price. The owner either posts the item by tracked delivery to arrive on your start date or arranges a local collection, which is usually easier for furniture and heavier appliances. The default minimum hire is two days.
Can I collect instead of paying for delivery?
Yes, where the listing offers it. Collection keeps costs down and makes sense for anything heavy or fragile, from a carpet cleaner to a dining table. Once the booking is confirmed, message the owner through Rentoodle to agree a time and a place, then return the item the same way. It also gives you a chance to ask how the machine is used.
How should items be returned?
Clean, and in the condition you received them. That matters more in this category than in most, since you are borrowing things people cook and eat with. Hirers are responsible for items while they are in their possession and are liable for damage or loss, and every booking is covered by the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000 if something is not put right.
