About sports equipment hire
Trying a sport should not start with a large purchase. A set of golf clubs, a paddleboard or a tent for one festival costs far less to hire for a weekend than it does to buy, store and eventually sell on. Rentoodle connects you with people across the UK who already own the kit and use it only part of the year.

That makes it a good fit for two kinds of trip: the one-off and the once a year. Camping gear comes out for a couple of weekends each summer, skis for a single week, a wetsuit for a holiday by the coast. Hiring also lets you try before you commit, so you can play a round with a proper set of irons or test a bike on real roads before deciding whether to buy.
Hirers are identity verified before a booking is confirmed, and every booking carries the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000, so owners are happy to lend equipment they care about. Borrowers pay 0% in platform fees on top of the owner's price, with a one-time £2 ID check at sign up. Delivery and local collection are both available, and the default minimum hire is two days, which covers a weekend away.

Sports equipment hire FAQs
How does sports equipment hire work on Rentoodle?
Pick the equipment and the dates you need, then book. New hirers verify their identity once for £2 and pay no booking fee on top of the owner's price. The owner either sends the kit by tracked delivery to arrive on your start date or arranges a local handover, which suits bikes, boards and anything bulky. You return it the same way by the end date.
Can I collect instead of paying for delivery?
Yes, when the listing offers collection. It is often the only sensible option for a kayak or a set of skis, and it keeps the overall cost down. After booking you message the owner through Rentoodle to agree a time and a place, then return the equipment the same way. Meeting the owner also gives you a chance to check sizing and adjust the fit.
What if equipment is damaged during my hire?
Contact the owner as soon as you notice. Hirers are responsible for kit while it is in their possession and are liable for repair or replacement, so early honesty matters. Every booking is backed by the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000, which covers the owner if a hirer does not put things right. Ordinary wear from proper use is expected.
