Choose the equipment and the dates, then book. New hirers complete a one-time £2 identity check and pay no platform fee on top of the owner's price. Most heavy plant is collected locally, and some listings offer delivery. Returns work the same way.
Do I need training or certification?
That is between you and the owner, and it depends on the machine. Some equipment needs a ticket or proper training to use safely and lawfully, and owners say so in the listing. Never take on a machine you are not competent to operate.
What if equipment breaks down on site?
Contact the owner immediately rather than attempting a repair. Hirers are responsible for equipment while it is in their possession and are liable for damage or loss. Every booking is covered by the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000 if a hirer does not put things right.
