About electronics and photo hire
Camera bodies, lenses, drones, speakers and home cinema kit all share the same problem: the price is permanent and the need usually is not. Rentoodle connects you with people across the UK who already own that gear and are happy to hire it out for a shoot, a holiday or a single weekend.
Camera bodies, lenses, drones, speakers and home cinema kit all share the same problem: the price is permanent and the need usually is not. Rentoodle connects you with people across the UK who already own that gear and are happy to hire it out for a shoot, a holiday or a single weekend.
The category runs much wider than photography. Alongside DSLR and mirrorless bodies, lenses, tripods and lighting, you will find drones, projectors, hi-fi separates, headphones, portable speakers and wearable technology. Hiring lets you try a lens properly before committing to it, cover a job that needs a second body, or borrow the one piece of kit a project calls for.
Owners lend expensive equipment because every hirer passes an identity check first and every booking is covered by the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000. Borrowers pay 0% in platform fees on top of the advertised price, with a single £2 ID check when they join. Choose tracked delivery or local collection, and note the two day default minimum, which suits most shoots and weekends away.

Electronics and photo hire FAQs
How does electronics hire work on Rentoodle?
Choose your kit and your dates, then book. New hirers verify their identity once for £2, and nothing is added on top of the owner's price. The owner either sends the item by tracked delivery to land on your start date or arranges a local handover. You return it the same way by the end of the hire period, and most listings run from a two day minimum.
Can I test the gear before I take it away?
If you collect locally, yes. Meeting the owner gives you a chance to power the camera or speaker up, check the battery and the connections and ask how they use it. If the item is coming by post, message the owner before booking with any questions about compatibility, accessories or the exact model included. Owners write their own listings and usually know the kit well.
What happens if something is damaged or does not come back?
Hirers are responsible for equipment while it is with them and are liable for repair or replacement, so tell the owner immediately if anything goes wrong. Every booking also carries the Lender Guarantee, covering the owner up to £30,000 if a hirer fails to put things right. That protection is what makes people comfortable lending cameras and drones in the first place.
