About games console hire
A console you will play for one wet half term does not need buying. Games console hire lets you borrow a PlayStation, an Xbox, a Nintendo Switch or a gaming PC from someone in the UK who already has one set up, for the week or the weekend you actually want it. It arrives on your start date, it gets played, and then it goes home again.
A few situations fit it neatly. Families want a console for the school holidays without a permanent fixture in the living room. Players have one exclusive title left to finish. Households choosing between two consoles would rather try both than guess. And if your own console sits idle between releases, you keep 75% of whatever you charge when you lend it out.
Owners post consoles to people they have never met because every booking has protection behind it. The hirer has been through an identity check before the console is packed, and the Rentoodle Lender Guarantee covers each booking up to £30,000. Borrowers pay no platform fee on top of the advertised price, only the one-time £2 identity check. Tracked delivery and local collection are both offered, and the default minimum hire is two days.

Games console hire FAQs
How does games console hire work on Rentoodle?
Choose the console and the dates, then book. New hirers complete a one-time £2 identity check, and nothing is added to the price the owner has set. The owner sends the console by tracked delivery to arrive on your start date, or arranges a local collection if you are nearby. You send it back the same way at the end, and two days is the usual minimum.
Are games and controllers included?
That depends entirely on the listing, so read what the owner has included before you book. Some bundle a controller, the cables and a game or two, while others list the console alone and let you hire titles separately. If it is not clear, message the owner through Rentoodle and agree anything extra before the hire starts. Accounts and digital purchases stay with the owner.
What if the console arrives faulty or gets damaged?
Message the owner straight away and keep the packaging. Hirers are responsible for the console while it is with them and are liable for damage or loss, so report anything as soon as it happens rather than at the end. Every booking is covered by the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000, which protects the owner if a hirer does not put things right.
