About dress hire
A wedding, a ball, a race day, a christening: the events that call for a special dress are exactly the events that happen once. Rentoodle is where women in the UK lend the dresses already hanging in their own wardrobes, so you can wear something you would never buy and send it back on Monday.
A wedding, a ball, a race day, a christening: the events that call for a special dress are exactly the events that happen once. Rentoodle is where women in the UK lend the dresses already hanging in their own wardrobes, so you can wear something you would never buy and send it back on Monday.
Because the dresses belong to individuals rather than to a rental house, the range is wider and far more personal. One lender has a bridesmaid dress worn for a single afternoon, another has a designer coat bought for a trip abroad. You can hire the bag, the heels and the sunglasses from the same place, and the two day default minimum covers a weekend away comfortably.
Every hirer is identity verified before a booking goes through, and the Lender Guarantee covers every booking up to £30,000, which is why owners are willing to lend pieces they care about. Borrowers pay 0% in fees on top of the price the lender sets, with a one-time £2 ID check when you first sign up. Choose delivery to your door, or collect locally if the lender is nearby.

Dress hire FAQs
How does dress hire work on Rentoodle?
Search for the style and size you want, choose your dates and book. Verified lenders either post the dress by tracked delivery to arrive on your start date or meet you for a local collection. You wear it, then send it back the same way by the end date. New hirers complete a one-time £2 identity check, and there is no booking fee on top of the lender's price.
How do I make sure I get the size right?
Listings are created by the owner, so the size, the measurements and the photographs come from the person who actually wears the dress. If anything is unclear, message the lender through Rentoodle before you book and ask about the fit, the length or the fabric. Booking a couple of extra days either side of your event also leaves room to try the dress on early.
What if the dress is damaged or stained?
Let the lender know straight away. Hirers are responsible for an item while it is in their possession, so you would cover cleaning, repair or replacement. Every booking is also covered by the Lender Guarantee up to £30,000, which protects the lender if a hirer does not put things right. That cover is one reason lenders list pieces they genuinely value.
